Life in Lockdown was very scary, and it was hard not to be able to see our friends and family. Hardest of all was not being able to give the people I love a big hug and a kiss!!
Zoom saved my life and helped me to be able to contact close friends and family, best of all were the on line sessions with Arty party and dance Syndrome. It created opportunities to meet up with folks, build friendships, share our feelings and work together on activities – most of all we danced together, it was amazing.
We would also go for long walks in deserted areas. Mum and I would pick wildflowers and put them in the flower press that Tim made for us. Once they were dry we made pictures and cards to share with the people we love, to let them know we were thinking about them.
We also made lots of framed pictures from old jewellery for friends and family.
During lockdown we started something called ‘Dress Up Saturday’. Tim, Mum & I wrote down themes or ideas on pieces of paper and at the beginning of the week we would take it in turns to pick one out. We would spend the week planning and preparing and on each Saturday we would get dressed up, prepare a special meal, and have a wonderful celebration. We always posted pictures on Facebook and we developed quite a following. Lots of people said it brightened up their week and really looked forward to seeing what we were up to.
It kept us busy and it kept us smiling.
